Queen Rania puts social media to the test with 1 Goal Campaign
Her Majesty Queen Rania gave an inspiring speech at the LeWeb technology conference in Paris, France last week.
Her Majesty called on bloggers, entrepreneurs and technologists across the globe to join a campaign called “1 Goal.”
In 2000, 164 world governments came together to create the Education for All Goals – that promised to give everyone a free quality education by 2015.
World leaders also committed to the UN Millennium Development Goals that aimed to end poverty by 2015 – and include Ttwo goals regarding education; to ensure that all boys and girls complete primary schooling by 2015 and to ensure that girls have the opportunity for education at all levels by 2015.
Putting online activism and social media to the test, Queen Rania aims to rally support from the web behind the quest to bring quality education to all. Her Majesty wants anyone and everyone to use their most popular product, channel and voice for at least one day to promote the cause and convince world leaders to provide quality education to all by 2015.
This ambitious and noble campaign aims to change the lives of children living in poverty by helping to give them an education. To join the conversasion, include #join1goal in your tweet and follow @join1goal on Twitter. Also demonstrate support by visiting the 1Goal’s official website
